Ideal Functional Design

This is the first step of the actual design process (when someone starts to design possibilities on paper). The purpose of this is to identify the best and most appropriate that should exist between the major proposed functions and spaces. I use this so I can gain some insight about what should be associated to what and what things should be separated. My main goal with this stage is to get a functional relationship between the various parts of the design.

This stage of the design is non-site related and deals with functions and spaces as bubbles or outlines in an abstract way. There really isn't any graphic realism in this initial stage. I arrange the bubbles so I may get that functional relationship between the different parts of the design.
